GREEN RIVER — Occasional midge and small baetis hatches are providing limited surface action, particularly in the Little Hole area. Good nymph patterns include olive, tan or pink scuds, size 10 to 16; San Juan Worms in size 12 to 14; bead head midge in sizes 16 to 22, pheasant tails in sizes 16 to 20, and Glo Bugs. For streamer fishing, try brown, tan or olive Wooly Buggers, size 26. Spin fishermen should try small Rapalas; spinners; black, brown or olive Marabou jigs; and tube jigs.

MOON LAKE — Reports of good fishing for smaller fish, with a few large fish being reported.

ELECTRIC LAKE — Some nice cutts continue to be caught near the inlet on the north part of the lake, which is open. Access is by snowshoe or snow machine only. Use a night crawler and chartreuse marshmallow. Cutthroats are in the 12- to 16-inch size range.

LAKE POWELL — Warmer days have started the fish migration from deep water to shallow. Shad are now secure in the feeling that the journey to shallow water is safe. Shad that were deeper than 70 feet all winter were seen this week at depths of 25 to 50 feet. Since colored water is warmer, anglers should head toward the shallow end of the canyon. The water color change from clear to murky is the starting point. Cover ground quickly to find fish congregations. Trolling while graphing is a good way to see what's happening. Try to stay over schools of fish. They will move away from the boat so be stealthy and quiet. Bass and walleye will be near shore or some rock or brush structure. Walleye will be found near shad in colored water for one more week, then they will move to rock slides to spawn. For now the same crank baits and plastic offerings that work for bass will take walleye.
