Salt Lake City Mayor Rocky Anderson's office spent $5,400 on food for "external meetings" in 2004. Of that, Anderson spent $410 on individual lunch and dinner meetings. Other food expenses included $857 for meetings of the Mayor's Drug, Alcohol and Tobacco Task Force, $650 for a Hispanic Chamber of Commerce reception and $889 for Community Council Chair meetings. Some food costs were for meetings conducted by mayoral employees that Anderson didn't attend.

A story in Monday's paper gave the impression Anderson had spent the entire $5,400 on individual meetings.
