Collins' sore shoulder to keep him sidelined

SAN ANTONIO — Jazz starting center Jarron Collins will not play tonight in San Antonio, the Jazz said Saturday.

Collins sustained a first-degree ligament sprain in the AC joint area of his right shoulder during the second quarter of Utah's Friday-night loss at New Orleans.

The timetable for his return is uncertain.

Jazz spokeswoman Caroline Shaw said Saturday that Collins would be "re-evaluated" after the team returns to Utah from San Antonio.

The Jazz's next game after tonight is Tuesday night vs. Indiana at the Delta Center.

With Collins out Friday, Curtis Borchardt started the second half at center against the Hornets and finished with a career-high 11 rebounds.

Borchardt, or perhaps Mehmet Okur, could start at center tonight vs. the Spurs.

If it's either of those two along with point guard Keith McLeod, shooting guard Raja Bell, small forward Matt Harpring and power forward Andrei Kirilenko, it would be the 19th different starting lineup the Jazz have used this season.

Point Raul Lopez (knee) and usual starting power forward Carlos Boozer (foot) remain on the injured list for the Jazz, who have lost 156 man games to injury this season.

Besides Boozer (who is traveling), Lopez (who is not) and Collins, the Jazz's other players all practiced Saturday — including Bell, who played 30 minutes and scored 19 points Friday despite being drained by flu-like symptoms.
