reDesign (6:30 p.m., HGTV): The personable Kenneth Brown is the host/designer on this new series, which opens by taking a big, empty space and turning it into something amazing. He spends more than most of us can afford, but Brown also provides ideas, principles and tips that all of us can use.

Survivor: Palau (7 p.m., Ch. 2): As if the performance of the football and basketball teams wasn't embarrassing enough, Brigham Young University grad Ashlee Ashby further embarrassed the school with her performance on "Survivor" the past couple of weeks. Could she have been any less personable or any worse at the game? Probably not. But at least getting voted out so early (in last week's second episode) means everyone will have forgotten about her long before a winner is declared. And she spent so little time the whole LDS/BYU thing never came up on air. Tonight, there are sharks — and not just the ones on land.

Great Performances: Concert for George (7 p.m., Ch. 7): A tribute to George Harrison includes performances by Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, Tom Petty and Ringo Starr.

The Apprentice (8 p.m., Ch. 5): The teams compete to design miniature golf courses. And I'm worried about Salt Laker Audrey Evans, whose position seems somewhat precarious. I completely agree with Audrey that several of her teammates are insufferable, but sometimes you have to suffer them anyway. Audrey's attitude is getting her in trouble.

Law & Order: Trial by Jury (9 p.m., Ch. 5): The fourth "L&O" series concentrates on trials, giving us a look at the prosecution, the defense, the judge and the jury. It's as well done as its three predecessors, but it's really just more of the same. ("Trial" moves to its regular time slot Friday at 9 p.m.)

Late Show with David Letterman (10:35 p.m., Ch. 2): Dan Rather is Dave's guest.
