UVSC homecoming activities

Utah Valley State College in Orem has arranged activities during homecoming week, Feb. 22-26, for students, alumni and the community. The highlights:

Tuesday

KIDS NIGHT. The whole family is invited to join UVSC's top athletes for free food and face painting at 6 p.m. in the Activity Center.

Wednesday

PINEWOOD DERBY. Lube the axles, polish the frame and send your car zooming down a track for the School of Business Alumni Chapter's second annual derby to raise money for business student scholarships at noon outside BU 145. The entry fee is $10 per car. Bring your own car or purchase one at the Bookstore for $8. For more information and to enter, call Steve Teeter at 801-863-8121.

MISS UVSC PAGEANT. The 25th annual pageant and crowning in the Ragan Theater at 7 p.m. Tickets are $7.

Thursday

HOMECOMING CONCERT. Pianist Jon Schmidt, a recipient of the Pearl Award, will perform in the Ragan Theater at 7:30 p.m. Proceeds will benefit student scholarships. Tickets are $6 for UVSC students, faculty and staff, and $10 for general admission at Campus Connection: 801-863-8797.

Friday

HOMECOMING BALL. Dress up and bring a date to the Grande Ballroom at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 at Campus Connection: 801-863-8797.

Saturday

TAILGATE PARTY AND HOMECOMING GAME. Reunite with classmates at the tailgate party in the McKay Events Center East Court at 4 p.m. before the 7 p.m. game against Northern Colorado. Tickets range from $3-$6, with free admission for UVSC students, employees and children under age 5. For tickets, call 801-863-SHOW.
