SB227 would grant "driving privilege cards" to those using an ITIN. The card would look different from a driver's license and couldn't be used as identification. It would require annual renewal. This bill is scheduled to be heard on the Senate floor.

HB316 and HB130 would require those using ITINs to participate in a database to get a Utah driver's license. Participants would be required to pay a $25 to $50 monthly fee and attend a monthly English class. The program would be managed by a private company.

HB330 would repeal the state law that allows ITINs to be used to get a driver's license.

HB223 would give those who can prove they are legal aliens but aren't eligible to work (i.e. those on student visas) to be able to obtain a license. This bill has passed the House and will be heard in a Senate committee today.
