I have been a Jazz fan for the past 12 years, even after Jose Ortiz's tour of duty with the Jazz, because of the human quality I saw in Stockton and Malone on a summer in Orlando. Now I am still a Jazz fan, but I cannot forget what happened with the Arroyo situation. Not because of Arroyo — he actually got the better part of the bargain — but by the real damage inflicted on the Jazz franchise . . . if in the past Miller, Bryant, Martin, Ginobilli and Co. didn't even consider playing for the Jazz, what do the front office and the coaching staff expect to get in this summer?

It is curious how an incident with a close-to-average player can become Sloan's Waterloo . . . actually "Arroyo" means "little brook" in Spanish. How convenient!

Sloan blew point guard situation

The coach has handled the point guard situation poorly. Any coach in the NBA would have played Carlos Arroyo full time. Coach Slone does not know how to communicate with today's young players. It is time for him to quit.

Jazz need time to grow

I say let the young guys develop and if you win you win and if not . . . lottery. We need to get something out of the lottery to help us. If you look at the top 7 draft picks this year, they have made an immediate impact on the teams they are with.

Jazz, Sloan not on same page

It has definitely been a difficult season for the Utah Jazz. There seem to be a lot of questions with no answers. I feel like it would be easy for the Jazz to do what the Spurs did a few years ago, when they dropped games on purpose in hopes of getting Tim Duncan in the upcoming draft. However, I cannot see Sloan, nor the rest of the Jazz for that matter, losing on purpose. I would rather see them fight to the end than throw in the white towel. I feel like Sloan and the Jazz just all need to be on the same page. Everybody has a losing season now and then. It's how you respond when the chips are down that makes you a true winner or a loser.
