The Jazz are disappointing this year, but it shouldn't come as a real big shock that they are not winning a lot more games. Winning comes with experience, and if you take Howard Eisley off the roster, the Jazz would be the youngest team in the NBA. We need to be patient and give this team time to develop to see how good they can be.

With that being said, there are ways the team could be improved. First is improved point guard play. I would love to see the Jazz somehow get a spark plug like Chris Paul in the draft. I think the energy and all-around game he could bring to the team would instantly make the team better. Second I am very disappointed in the poor defense played my Carlos Boozer. While he has definitely shown he can be a good rebounder and scorer he just doesn't play defense with the same intensity. Hopefully Sloan can get him to improve defensively, he certainly has the physical traits to be a good defender.

I think Mehmet Okur was a great signing, the best free agent the Jazz have ever signed, but he needs to play more. I have not been able to figure out why he is not getting 35+ minutes a game every game. All he does is play hard and produce.

Jazz have number of problems

Problems:

1. No good point guards to run the offense

2. No good defensive center

Story continues below
3. Let Giricek play more time

4. Teach Okur better defense

5. Do not replace the coach

Explanation:

A. The Jazz have no real point guard to run the offense. The Carlos Arroyo trade was good, because Arroyo cannot play defense nor can he play real offense. Larry H. Miller should really think about trying to pick up Dan Dickau from New Orleans. The guy averages around 18 points and seven assists in the last six games. When Baron Davis comes back, Dan will not get many minutes. He sure loves to play the game.

Do not let Eisley play. Drop this player, he just "sucks." He cannot play offense nor defense, I do not understand why Sloan lets him play for so much. Let Raul Lopez play more.

B. Jaron Collins, Curtis Bochardt — these players are no good. When Larry H. Miller was about to buy players, he should have talked to Jerry Sloan first. Jaron Collins is really a useless player; he does nothing. Curtis Bochardt can turn out to be a good player in a few years. He needs a lot of practice, and the Jazz does not need this kind of center right now.
