It includes Baptist songs and some slightly jazzed-up hymns of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as well as contemporary gospel songs, "but they're all beautiful songs and show that we're all God's children. He loves us all in that way. It doesn't matter where we live or who we are, we are all part of His army, and He wants us all to come to Him."

Besides, she said with a laugh, when she told President Hinckley (while singing at his 90th birthday party) that some of the hymns could use a little zip, "he told me to make it happen."

It's not done with any irreverence, she said. But there are two sides to feeling the spirit. "We Mormons cry at the drop of a hat because we feel the spirit. But if it can make you cry, it should also make you so happy that you want to clap your hands or tap your foot."

The SUV choir has brought one aspect of Knight's life full-circle. She began her entertainment career as a 4-year-old, singing with her church choir. Although it's a different church now, "I've learned that when you use your gifts to His glory, He will magnify them."

If there is one message she hopes people take away from her music it is this: "The Lord loves us all. He's alive and well and dispels the hopelessness of the world."
