Davis County supporters of highway air views on Internet

Davis has lost several opportunities to bring new business into the county because of the delay of the road, said Sommerkorn. Truckers are also affected, with commute times contributing to rising costs of business.

If the road is delayed again, taxpayers will lose millions, according to Sommerkorn.

And that's a valid concern.

"All you need to do with a judge is raise some doubts," he said. "I don't know what we can do because ultimately, I think it's going to be decided in the courts. I don't know what we can do other than show strong community support."

Blogging is an effective way to gather that support, said Chambless.

"It's cathartic in part, but it's also informative and persuasive," he said. "They're trying to inform and persuade those who read the blog."
