House zips health bill through with no debate

With literally no debate, the Parker Jensen health care bill passed the House Wednesday.

The bill essentially gives parents more rights in deciding medical care questions for their children. Jensen became the subject of a national story and the focus of legislation when his parents refused to give him prescribed treatment for cancer they believed he didn't have. He remains healthy two years later.

The bill, which passed the Utah Senate last week, passed the House of Representatives by a 67-0 vote, with eight representatives absent.

The bill now awaits the signature of Gov. Jon Huntsman in order to become law.
