PROVO Raylene Ireland, the former executive director for State Administrative Services, will speak to Utah County Republican Women today at noon on the second floor of the Provo City Library, 550 N. University.
Ireland joined state government in 1993 as the first woman appointed to former governor Mike Leavitt's Cabinet. Prior to her state service, she was an assistant to then Provo mayor Joe Jenkins. A life-long Republican, she was the first woman elected as chairman of the Utah County Republican Party in 1983.
