In regard to Lois Collins' article (Page A1, Feb. 4) about Christy Standler's progress with the treatment of her disease: I applaud Christy's spirit and attitude and commend the dedication of her medical and surgical teams and those assisting with her rehabilitation.
However, I certainly hope this piece wasn't written with the intent of making a case for the medical community in light of their gross over-reaching with Parker Jensen and his family.
I would like to see an article on how many other children have been treated for Ewing's sarcoma in the past couple of years at the same institutions that have worked with Standler and what their outcomes have been.
I question the editorial integrity of the decision to publish this piece without a balancing sidebar, since the Jensens' story was so recent and compelling in this community.
