The Museum of Art at Brigham Young University will host another lecture in its series supporting the exhibition "Art of the Ancient Mediterranean World." Michael Rhodes, professor of ancient scriptures at BYU, will discuss "The Family in Egyptian Art and Literature" Thursday evening at 7 in the museum's auditorium. The Intermountain Society of Artists will hold its monthly meeting Tuesday, 7 p.m., at the Riverton Art Museum, 1640 W. 13200 South. Borge Andersen will discuss slide presentations, photography and methods for making prints of artists' work.
The Salt Lake Art Center, 20 S. West Temple, will host another ART TALK Wednesday at 7 p.m. Artist Hung Liu will discuss her series of Idaho Chinese portraits and the historical photographs currently showing at the center. The Utah Arts Council's Visual Arts Program will hold a seminar on juried competitions at the Rio Gallery, 300 S. Rio Grande (455 West), on Tuesday, Feb. 22, from 6-8 p.m. Guest speakers will be Justin Diggle, printmaker and member of Utah Design Board; Ruth Lubbers, director of Art Access; and Victoria Rowe, director of the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art.
