It wasn't easy, he said, because "a lot of the script was just improvised. But Will and Kirby are so professional they made it as easy as it could be."

Even though the movie is a "mockumentary," the music is first rate, said Tarasevich. "We hooked up with Jenny Jordan Froggley, and she's a musical genius."

Tarasevich has done studio work in Utah and performs regularly with the Joe Muscolino Jazz Band and with Voodoo Box, a funk cover band that plays music of the 1970s and '80s.

Growing up as a Mormon in New Jersey was maybe a little different than growing up in Utah, he said, "but we are not making fun of the church or the culture. We are having fun with the culture, letting people see the light side, letting them know its OK to laugh at ourselves, to step back and take a look and be amused."

Being in Everclean was "great. It was so much fun. Boy bands are naive, so we can say anything we want and not worry how it sounds."

After all, he said, "we are a real boy band. We have a CD out."
