LEHI The City Council Tuesday essentially ratified the proposed land exchange and boundary adjustments involving a new Costco store in the area of 900 West and State Street suggested by Mayor Ken Greenwood last week.
The council approved a resolution of intent to adjust the common boundary between American Fork and Lehi as well as a resolution of intent to annex certain properties along the highway corridor.
Under Greenwood's proposal, some property will be disconnected from Utah County and annexed to Lehi and other property in Lehi will be de-annexed and annexed to American Fork City to avoid having Costco build its store and parking lot in two cities.
If the Costco store planned for Lehi is not built, the boundaries would revert to the status quo, Greenwood said.
A public hearing will be set on the matter.
