School contests misguided

I just finished the article "Two girls voted cutest couple at Murray High." A district director was quoted as saying, "It's very important to us that we promote tolerance and acceptance of diversity."

Huh?

Tolerance is not what this is about. After all, a "cutest couple" contest blatantly promotes "intolerance" of people who aren't cute. This is about a culture war in which schools should not be "promoting" anything.
