A man who allegedly shot his girlfriend accidentally was charged Monday in 3rd District Court.
A man shot his girlfriend in the neck on Jan. 10 when she was visiting him at his residence. Both the man and his girlfriend said it was not intentional, charges state, and after the shooting, the man got help for her.
The man let an officer search his residence, near 800 East and 800 South, and the officer found a bag of cocaine, a bag of mushrooms and two marijuana pipes. A Glock 22.40-caliber gun was in the back yard, charges state.
The man was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, a third-degree felony; use of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person, a third-degree felony; reckless endangerment, a class C misdemeanor; obstructing justice, a class A misdemeanor; unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, a class B misdemeanor.
