The State of the State address given by Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr. Tuesday night in Fillmore isn't quite official yet.

Because the governor chose to deliver the mandated address in the state's territorial capital, he has to turn over copies of his speech to the Legislature in order to fulfill his constitutional duties.

Wednesday, he strode onto the floor of the House and handed a copy to House Speaker Greg Curtis, R-Sandy. "You don't have to endure my remarks all over again," Huntsman joked.

But when Huntsman and his entourage arrived at the office of Senate President John Valentine, R-Orem, he was told he'd have to come back because the Senate already had adjourned for the day.

"Our legal counsel told us we actually have to be in session," Valentine told the governor, inviting him to return today. The Senate had been scheduled to be in session but ended up adjourning early because they were out of bills to consider.
