Before leaving for recruiting visits this week, Utah football coach Kyle Whittingham finalized some coaching assignments and hired two graduate assistants.
Whittingham named defensive coordinator Gary Andersen as his assistant head coach. Andersen will also be responsible for the defensive line. Offensive coordinator Andy Ludwig will coach the quarterbacks. Jay Boulware has been assigned the tight ends and is the co-special teams coordinator along with Jay Hill. Boulware will handle the return teams and Hill the coverage teams. The secondary will be split between Hill (cornerbacks) and Derrick Odum (safeties), and Kalani Sitake will coach the inside linebackers. Charlie Dickie (offensive line), Aaron Roderick (wide receivers) and Dave Schramm (running backs) complete the full-time offensive staff. Schramm is also the recruiting coordinator.
On staff for a second year as a graduate assistant is Lance Hunsaker, who will coach the outside linebackers. First-year Ute offensive G.A. Dan Finn will assist Dickey with the offensive line.
