The Salt Lake City Library and the Utah Symphony and Opera presents a new lecture series.
Knowledgeable guest speakers will share the stories behind your favorite operas on Tuesday evenings at 7:30 in the Main Library auditorium, 210 E. 400 South.
The schedule is:
Jan. 18 "Jenufa" by Leos Jancek: A gripping masterpiece about a stepmother who commits a crime to help her daughter find true love.
March 8 "A Midsummer Night's Dream" by Benjamin Britten: This magical English opera explores Shakespeare's timeless story of jealousy, passion and fairy mischief.
May 10 "Cosi Fan Tutte" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: The cynical battles the idealistic in this hilarious story of true love and complete chaos.
