LEHI Larry H. Miller has signed an agreement to take over a movie theater at Thanksgiving Point.
The lease marks the entry into Utah County for Miller, who owns the Utah Jazz and various entertainment venues.
The 2,700-square-foot Stadium 8 theater will be renamed Megaplex 8.
Larry H. Miller Megaplex Theatres will replace LCA Enterprises LLC of San Francisco as operator of the theater, which had declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
The $3.5 million eight-screen theater opened in May 2003 as the first theater complex in Lehi.
The theater is just west of I-15 at the Alpine-Highland exit.
Lehi imposed a 50-cent per ticket tax on the theater at the request of Thanksgiving Point developers to help pay for roads and utility lines to the theater, Lehi Mayor Ken Greenwood said.
