MANCHESTER, N.H. — The biggest mystery of the season for the Utah Grizzlies has been how to solve the Manchester Monarchs, who won their fourth game in as many chances against Utah, 5-1 on Wednesday.

This season Manchester has outscored the Grizzlies by a combined 22-4 margin in the four games. Brad Smyth and Noah Clarke each scored a pair of goals, and Michael Cammalleri had three helpers.

Manchester had outscored the Grizzlies 11-0 in the previous two games and picked up where it left off when Smyth took a pass from Yanick Lehoux and buried it behind Grizzlies rookie goaltender Frank Doyle. Jeff Giuliano and Lehoux had assists for Manchester.

Manchester added to its lead when Giuliano took advantage of a bounce in front of Doyle and scored his fourth goal of the season. Later, Smyth found himself all alone in the slot on the power play and scored his 10th goal of the season and second of the game, assisted by Michael Cammalleri and Dustin Brown at the 18:04 mark.

Utah broke up more than 170 minutes of shutout hockey to the Monarchs at the 7:52 mark of the third when Peter Metcalf took a pass from Jarrod Skalde and lifted it over Mathieu Garon for his second goal in as many games.
