Salt Lake City will ask the Utah Legislature this session to approve the use of photo-radar enforcement.

Tuesday, the City Council voted 5-2 to support Mayor Rocky Anderson's plan to lobby the Legislature to give cities the ability to adopt photo-radar technology, which can catch speeding motorists and those who run red lights.

Photo radar and expansion of the Salt Palace Convention Center are the two issues the city will lobby for proactively at the Legislature.
