More and more organizations are also responding to the tsunamis in southern Asia and Africa:

• The Adventure Foursquare Church in Draper is donating church contributions to relief efforts and changing January sermons to focus on disaster-related topics.

• The Greek Orthodox Archodiocese of America is holding a special collection on Jan. 9 in all parishes throughout the Holy Archdiocese to go toward the church's "Asian Disaster Relief Fund."

• Brighton Ski Resort will be collecting donations and contributing $2 for every lift ticket sold to relief efforts. Money will go to the American Red Cross, Greater Salt Lake Chapter. For more information, contact the American Red Cross at 801-323-7000.

"Our small effort, along with thousands of others around the world, will hopefully aid the rebuilding and recovery process for the millions of people who have lost family members, friends, their homes and their ways of life," said John Kircher, owner and president of Brighton Resort.
