Salt Lake County Mayor-elect Peter Corroon Tuesday appointed two intergovernmental relations specialists in his upcoming administration.

Nichole Adams, Salt Lake County Democratic Party chairwoman, will be Corroon's city and county intergovernmental liaison.

Rob Jeppson will be the liaison for state and federal governments. Jeppson is acting mayor Alan Dayton's communications director.

"We felt there had to be more communication and working together with the other cities and the county and other counties in the state," Corroon said.

Corroon has increased the number of such liaisons by one. Former intergovernmental liaison Kara Trevino is now working in the County Council office.

Adams and Jeppson will each be paid between $65,000 and $75,000 annually. Corroon funded the extra position by cutting other salaries in the mayor's office.
