"Dalmation Chases the Star Fish in Bird City -- (Ahhhhh)" by Alison Perrault-Steubing with Kindred Spirits (near the Melting Pot).
Salt Lake City Arts Council and the Downtown Alliance teamed up to bring original artwork by seven local artists to the Main Street kiosks, located between South Temple and 400 South.
The city's public art program solicited two-dimensional original artwork from Alfred Crawford, McGarren Flack, Paul Heath, Jimmy Lucero, Alex Wilding, Alison Perreault-Steubing and Jim Wilson for display.
The project provides an opportunity for artists working in two-dimensional mediums to participate in the public art program, which typically provides more opportunities for sculptors.
The program will continue for up to two years, giving many two-dimensional artists an opportunity of exhibit.
It is hoped that the art will contribute in a positive way to the downtown experience for workers, shoppers, visitors and residents.
