Justin Stoddard

Lone Peak Knights

Sport: Basketball

Class: Senior

Position: 6-foot-2 guard

The numbers: Stoddard has stepped up to fill the shoes of injured Cory Chase by filling up the basket from the outside. Heading into Tuesday's games in St. George he had made 16 of 32 shots from behind the 3-point arch. Overall, he's shooting a torrid 52 percent from the floor and averaging almost 12 points per game. He scored 25 in last week's win over Logan and tied a school record with seven 3-pointers. He also has 18 assists this season to only six turnovers.

Diane Stewart

Spanish Fork Dons

Sport: Basketball

Class: Junior

Position: 5-foot-10 forward

The numbers: Stewart has already made a big name for herself in track as a state champion hurdler and long-jumper. Her basketball skills, however, are not lacking much either. With her height, reach and quickness, she's an outstanding rebounder, defender and scorer around the hoop. In three Dons wins last week, Stewart scored 17, 14 and 22 points respectively. For the season she's averaging almost 16 points per game in leading her team to winning record.
