KSL Television was set to announce today it has teamed up with Lindon-based LogoWorks to launch "Ugly Logo Redux," a contest to find the ugliest local company logo. The winner will receive a "logo makeover," courtesy of LogoWorks.
Nominations will be accepted via the KSL and LogoWorks Web sites until midnight on Dec. 31, after which the field will be narrowed down to 15. The KSL Web site is www.ksl.com, and the LogoWorks site is www.logoworks.com/makeover.
From Jan. 4-17, viewers will have the opportunity to vote for Utah's ugliest logo, the station said in a statement. The Web sites also will provide information regarding entry qualifications and instructions.
"Many businesses know they need a serious 'facelift,' " Morgan Lynch, president and CEO of LogoWorks, said in a statement. "This is a great opportunity for them to try to get it for free, and we're excited to turn some of Utah's great businesses who feel like ugly ducklings into swans."
The top four finalists will go through logo makeovers at LogoWorks, KSL said Friday. The runners-up and overall winner will be announced on the station's "Eyewitness News Today" in February.
