Encouraging news for once. After 15 years of arrogant refusal to give serious consideration to the Pons/Fleischmann "cold fusion" phenomenon, the Department of Energy has at last released a report by a group of serious scientists, two-thirds of whom now believe the matter deserves further serious study, according to the Deseret Morning News (Dec. 3).
Now if we can only get the U.S. Patent Office to start issuing patent protection for those making progress in the field.
Another step might be for the University of Utah to apologize for hounding former president Chase Peterson out of office.
The Deseret Morning News also might wish to consult local cold fusion authority professor Billings Brown, who has quietly been carrying out home experiments in cold fusion. He recently said he has been achieving outputs of energy 50 percent above energy inputs.
