Salt Lake County Mayor-elect Peter Corroon has announced his bipartisan transition team, and they are already hard at work.
Leaders of the transition team so far include: Ted Wilson as honorary chairman; Doug Willmore as working chairman; Steve Barth (former state representative) as chairman of public works committee; Bill Orton (former congressman) as ethics committee chairman; Jeffery Hatch as budget committee chairman; Lynette Rasmussen as human services chairwoman; and Maura Carabello as public relations specialist.
Other team members are Archie Archuleta, Rob Rice, Tom Berggren, Ken Bullock, Amy Corroon, Chris Corroon, Ed LaGuardia, Jinger LaGuardia, Patrick Leary, Jenny MacKenzie, Pat Shea, Sydney Fonnesbeck, Tim Chambliss, Rick Green, Karen Suzuki-Okabe, Jenny Hansen, Joan Gallegos, Ron Barness, Genevieve Atwood, Jenny Wakefield and Dave Spatafore.
"I'm planning to run an open, honest and transparent county government," Corroon said. "I'm starting my efforts by appointing a bi-partisan transition team, who will look after the best interests of the people of Salt Lake County."
He stressed that all recommendations from the transition team must be grounded in fact, not just opinions. He also said he has put together a great team that will be working hard together for the next six weeks.
