Provo police have investigated three incidents involving BYU football players since January, and subsequent reviews of the allegations by the university's Honor Code Office concluded with punishment for 14 players:
In January, several players engaged in group sex with a female BYU track athlete at a party in a west Provo home. The woman initially told police she was raped but later recanted. University officials expelled one player, suspended three for a year and placed two on probation. The woman withdrew from school.
In April, two players beat up and robbed an acquaintance. Both pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges, and both were suspended for one year.
The Honor Code Office reviewed the actions of nine players in the August incident. Three were cleared of wrongdoing, but six were punished. Three were suspended for a year, one was partially suspended, one placed on probation and one warned.
