Jeff Edwards has been named by the executive committee of the Economic Development Corp. of Utah as the organization's interim president and chief executive officer.
Edwards succeeds Christopher Roybal, who will be leaving the organization at the end of the year to serve as the senior adviser for economic development in the Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr. administration.
Edwards has been with EDCU for more than three years as vice president of client services, responsible for recruiting new businesses to Utah by working with corporations and site consultants across the United States. The group also conducts economic research and analyses and provides assistance to existing Utah businesses with expansion and financing resources.
He also has worked for Consonus, Simpata, Western Governor's University, 3Com Corp.'s Mobile Communications Division (formerly Megahertz Corp.), Evans & Sutherland Computer Corp. and Hercules Aerospace Co. Edwards has a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of Utah.
