The death of Reed Irvine in Maryland was noted in the Deseret Morning News on Nov. 19.
Reed was a contemporary whom I knew as friend, neighbor and fellow student at the University of Utah. He was a man who never left you unchallenged if you took a position which he considered incorrect. That constant challenge to untruth led him to form Accuracy in Media. The organization and its publication determined, before its popular awareness, that the news media often gave liberal stance to their readers and listeners. He detested labels and wore none of his own except, perhaps, "Truthseeker."
I long respected and admired Reed for his work and regret his death.
