The expiration of the "assault" weapon ban is highly overrated. It was merely an attempt by the Clinton administration to keep anti-gun activists under control. Assault weapons are no more dangerous than normal weapons.
They were banned because of the style of the grip for rifles and weight for pistols.
They are not automatic weapons, which have been illegal for a civilian to own since 1934.
The expiration of this means nothing, other than giving the anti-gun activists a new reason to feel sorry for themselves.
