PROVO A group of Latter-day Saint scholars and artists will explore the relationship between the arts and LDS theology in the fifth "Art, Belief, Meaning" symposium at the Brigham Young University Museum of Art on Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m..
This symposium will be held in conjunction with "Metaphorically Speaking: Contemporary Religious Art," an exhibition at the museum featuring over 40 works by twelve contemporary artists who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The symposium will feature presentations by artists and scholars on topics that include the history of LDS folk art, the exploration of contemporary religious art, the role of inspiration in creativity and the connection between art and morality.
The event is free to the public.
