Scott McCoy, head of the Don't Amend Alliance, says people's minds have been opened to gay and lesbian relationships. And Dani Eyer, director of the Utah ACLU, takes a breathtaking leap of illogic in stating that legal gay marriage is inevitable, and those who oppose it are merely reacting anxiously to this inevitability.
According to the paper, "Utah was one of 11 states voting on (the marriage amendment), and at press time, every amendment seemed headed to victory." These amendment victories are being challenged in other states and will likely be challenged in these 11 as well. However, the final outcome is by no means certain. Those who cast votes in opposition to legal gay marriage are by no means anxiously reacting to inevitability, but are taking open-minded, thoughtful and legal steps to prevent it.
