Incumbent president Jeanetta Williams of the NAACP Salt Lake Branch was re-elected Monday.
She received 82 percent of the vote to defeat Larry Houston. Elections are held every two years and only Salt Lake NAACP members may vote.
Williams has maintained that as long as she is president "the NAACP will continue to be an organization that helps everybody regardless of ethnic backgrounds and memberships that reflect the entire community."
