Rocky Anderson's bridge-building project (Bridging the religious divide) attempts to close gaps that do not exist while ignoring the real issue that divides our community.
Religious unity shines brightly in our city. We observe religious sects standing side by side near the Main Street Plaza defending against would-be trespassers. We see volunteers from many religious groups laboring together to repair and rebuild damaged buildings.
The great divide is between the religious and the irreligious. And the battles are being waged in the courts, legislatures, voting booths and television "news" programs. We do not need a bogus bridge-building distraction.
