Two shotgun shooting clinics will be offered by the Division of Wildlife Resources' Becoming an Outdoors Woman program in the coming weeks.
The first will be Oct. 30. It will be a ladies beginning trapshooting / shotgun clinic at the Heber Valley Gun Club, located at the end of Big Hollow Road in Heber City
The clinic will run from 9 a.m. to noon and will cost $15 per person. Lunch, instruction and loaner guns are included. Participants must buy or bring their own ammunition.
The second will be Oct. 31 and will be a skeet clinic for experienced shooters. It will be held at the Lee Kay Center for Hunter Education, 6000 W. 2100 South in Salt Lake City.
It will run from 8:30 am to 1 p.m. and will cost $15 per person.
Participants must bring their own ammunition and shotgun.

SPLORE FUND-RAISER
The 22nd SPLORE Harvest Moon Auction will be Saturday from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Prime Hotel, 215 W. South Temple The theme is "Pirates of Splore". Those participating will search for treasures in the live and silent auction. There will be a dinner, awards ceremony and live entertainment. Dress in pirate garb (or buy garb at the door) or dress as you wish.
SPLORE is a non-profit organization that is involved in taking physically challenged individuals on outdoor activities, such as river trips.

MONTANA RIVER CLOSURE
With drought conditions and low stream flows continuing to take a toll in southwestern Montana, state fish and wildlife officials will close a 30-mile stretch of the upper Beaverhead River to fishing and reduce the fishing limits on Clark Canyon Reservoir to protect wild and native fish populations.
Montana officials report that the areas have been popular with Utah anglers.
