U.S. Rep. Jim Matheson, D-Utah, is voting "yes" on Amendment 3.

Matheson's endorsement, announced Monday by the Yes on 3 coalition, is consistent with the congressman's position on traditional marriage, including support for the failed federal marriage amendment. Matheson's Republican opponent John Swallow also supports Amendment 3.

Matheson's brother, Democratic gubernatorial candidate Scott Matheson, opposes Amendment 3 because of its second sentence.
