It's time to stop watering your lawn

With reservoir levels significantly lower than last year at this time, residents are being asked to cease watering their lawns.

The Utah Division of Water Resources wants residents to now forgo watering until next spring.

"Although it hasn't rained in a while, lawns will still be fine if you stop watering them now," said Molly Waters, the division's water conservation coordinator.

"If your lawns begin to show severe signs of stress, go ahead and give it one more deep watering before you shut it off for the season," she said.

Lawns normally begin going dormant this time of year.

Overall, statistics show that Utahns are using 17 percent less water now than they were in the year 2000.
