• My Wife and Kids (7 p.m., Ch. 4): Michael tells Jr. to spend some time away from Vanessa and the baby.

• The Biggest Loser (7 p.m., Ch. 5): Well, at least this new "reality" show isn't about stabbing each other in the back or eating gross stuff — it's about not eating as much gross stuff and losing weight. Caroline Rhea hosts this hour, which features a dozen overweight contestants competing (with the help of "celebrity trainers") to slim down. But it's not exactly a support group — one contestant is eliminated each week, and the ultimate winner at losing takes home $250,000.

• Gilmore Girls (7 p.m., Ch. 30): Lorelai and Luke and Rory and Dean go on a double date that doesn't go well.

• George Lopez (7:30 p.m., Ch. 4): Angie decides to home-school Carmen.

• Clubhouse (8 p.m., Ch. 2): Lou quits his job as equipment manager; Pete runs for school president.

• Broadway: The American Musical (8 p.m., Ch. 7): First two hours of this excellent, highly entertaining six-hour documentary series. (Continues on Wednesday and concludes on Thursday.)

• Veronica Mars (8 p.m., Ch. 24): Veronica must outwit a group of computer hustlers known as the Silicon Mafia.

• One Tree Hill (8 p.m., Ch. 30): Felix organizes a dare night to test the limits of his new classmates.

• He's a Lady (8:05 p.m., TBS): Intentionally dopey new series in which 11 he-men compete to see who can do the best imitation of a woman. Like in drag.

• Rodney (8:30 p.m., Ch. 4): Rodney winds up working for his father-in-law.

• Scrubs (8:30 p.m., Ch. 5): J.D. catches his brother and Elliot in the act.

• Judging Amy (9 p.m., Ch. 2): Amy doesn't believe a teen's murder confession.

• NYPD Blue (9 p.m., Ch. 4): A young woman is found murdered in the closet of her apartment.

• Law & Order: SVU (9 p.m., Ch. 5): The detectives find an abandoned baby with a note indicating the mother has been kidnapped.
