A week before his appearance at Utah Valley State College, filmmaker Michael Moore revved up students in a rally at the University of Arizona.

KSL-TV reported the well-known liberal drew a crowd of more than 14,000 students.

Moore is touring several college campuses before the Nov. 2 election in what he calls a "Slacker Uprising Tour."

Moore will stop at UVSC to speak with students Oct. 20. Moore told a news conference that he decided to make Utah part of his tour as "kind of a missionary thing," KSL reported.

"Imagine what it's like if you live in Utah and you're for Kerry," he said. "We're stopping there and giving our goodness to others and then leaving immediately."

KSL reported the University of Arizona shelled out $27,000 to entice Moore to speak. UVSC is paying $40,000 for Moore's upcoming appearance.
