The wait is finally over for Utah soccer fans.
It's been three months since Major League Soccer awarded Dave Checketts an expansion franchise, and after much gossip and speculation, the team name, logo and colors will be announced at an open house at Rice-Eccles Stadium today at 1 p.m.
Even though the team succeeded in keeping the name a secret, as reported in the Deseret Morning News last month, Real Salt Lake is still believed to be the name. Speculation is that the team colors will be red, blue and yellow.
Salt Lake Alliance is still a possibility, however.
Checketts will be joined by general manager Steve Pastorino and newly hired head coach John Ellinger at the open house beginning at 11 a.m.
At the open house, fans can also select and purchase 20-game season tickets packages, with prices ranging from $500 for VIP seats to $200 for seats behind the north goal.
