Against the wishes of the three Democratic members of the Salt Lake City Council, council members are scheduled to discuss Tuesday alleged sexual harassment in the clerk's office.
Republican members of the council have said they believe Democratic District Attorney David Yocom soft-pedaled an investigation into the matter and let chief deputy Nick Floros, a friend and fellow Democrat, retire quietly instead of being punished or even criminally charged.
Democrat Joe Hatch said he is fine with having the discussion, as long as any closed portion of it includes only the investigation and potential litigation arising from it.
"If it ever deviates beyond that, into any area as far as investigating somebody else or hiring an independent attorney, I'm going to insist that it be open," he said Friday.
Supporters of County Mayor Nancy Workman, who Yocom recently charged with felonious misuse of public money, say Yocom picks and chooses whom he prosecutes based on politics.
