The mayor had requested a copy of the report back in January but didn't receive one until July. Two months later, her office again doesn't have it.
Yocom says the report reflects an internal investigation and is not a public document. Whether or not that is true, with the current publicity surrounding the report, it may be only a matter of time before it makes its way into the public domain.
"It's all going to come out," County Councilman David Wilde said. "The genie is out of the bottle, and I don't think there's any way to put it back in."
Acting Salt Lake County Mayor Alan Dayton plans to send a letter to Geri Shaw, the county's chief operations officer whom he put on leave last week, advising her that she is not permitted to work on Workman's campaign during working hours.
While Dayton's action removing Shaw from the day-to-day operations of the county was generally viewed as appropriate, the move came under some criticism because it meant Shaw could become, in essence, a Workman campaign volunteer funded by the county an awkward arrangement.
