Celebrities jump on the stump

What does this prove? That Marsh is an idiot. Then again, maybe the average American does feel connected to people who live in mansions, make millions of dollars a year, own 14 cars, hire maids and gardeners and actually say things like "Call my manager."

In his book "Hollywood vs. America," Michael Medved wrote that Hollywood — and entertainers in general — couldn't be more out of touch with mainstream Americans if they were from another planet. Hollywood, he writes, thinks Americans are mostly anti-religion, anti-family, adulterous, promiscuous and profane — hence, the stuff on the big screen — while polls show most Americans are just the opposite. Medved thinks this is because celebs tend to associate with celebs. They're so isolated that they have no idea how most Americans live and think.

Look, the "stars" can't even manage their own lives as well as the average American. Why would anyone take their voting advice?
