Some of the tenets of Scientology

Where did we come from? Where do we go? How should we act while we're here?

These are some of the questions religions typically explore. The Rev. Phillip Parke, a lay minister with the Salt Lake City Church of Scientology, explains some of the tenets of Scientology:

God and creation: Scientology has no dogma about God. One is free to believe as he does on this subject, as it has no particular bearing on the application of Dianetics or Scientology technology. As one becomes more spiritually aware, one increases or comes to his own understanding of infinity and God and his relationship thereto.

A moral code: The Ten Commandments are good words to live by, but they are not, per se, a doctrine of Scientology. The (Scientology) Code of Honor is an unenforceable moral code which one may choose to agree with and adopt. It concerns itself with a spiritual being and his concept of courage, integrity and honor to himself. As one becomes more aware spiritually, one tends rather naturally to gravitate toward such a code.

Mortality: The spirit continues to exist beyond body death and will inhabit other bodies as time goes on, just as it has inhabited other bodies in the past.
