Gun opponent untruthful

Marla Kennedy of Gun Violence Prevention Center was interviewed by KSL the day the Clinton "assault weapons" ban expired. Listening to her, I realized just how hysterical gun ban proponents can be, and how untruthful. She breathlessly exclaimed that the end of the ban means Utahns will be seeing "machine guns on the streets!" Machine guns became essentially illegal in 1934 and have remained so since. The cosmetic features covered by Clinton's useless ban do not satisfy the legal definition of "machine gun." I suspect that Ms. Kennedy is not ignorant of these facts and is being disingenuous, hoping that average people won't know the difference.

Ms. Kennedy's rhetoric might win converts to her anti-gun agenda, but it does more violence to society than any weapon ever will.
